Itinerary of the Bedouin Trek

Day 1 / Jabal Umm Ad Dami

On the first day we will meet you at the parking lot of Wadi Rum Village. From here you will have a wonderful ride in our 4WD to the foot of Jabal Umm Ad Dami. With a 1854m peak is this the highest mountain of Jordan. First we will visit a Nabatean dam and then we will ascend all the way to the peak of the mountain, marked by the Jordanian flag. We will drink some Bedouin tea while enjoying the views over Wadi Rum and Saudi Arabia. Then we descend back. In total we will by hiking for 2-3 hours. We have a picnic lunch in the desert and relax for a bit. We continue by jeep through Wadi Al Nuqra, visit some beautiful sites and finish with a magnificent sunset at Wadi Sabet. After watching the sunset we will have dinner around the campfire and have our first night of sleeping under the stars.

Day 2 / Jabal Al-Hash

After having a nutritious breakfast we will move ourselves Jabal Al-Hash. From here we will have 5 full hours to hike across the mountain. During these 5 hours you will get the most breathtaking views Wadi Rum has to offer. The aim of the hike is to reach the highest point of the mountain at 1,700 meters above sea level. We will start the hike on the eastern side of the mountain in the Um Snehah Valley and after we reached the top, we will descend down on the western side, finishing in Wadi Nuqra. Here we will eat a well deserved freshly prepared Bedouin picnic lunch with tea and take some time to relax and chat. We will go and find a good place to sleep for the night. After watching the sunset we will have dinner around the campfire and take a walk to watch the stars before we go to sleep.  

Day 3 / Burdah Rock Bridge

After breakfast we head to Jabal Burdah, to climb one of the highest natural arches in the world. There are different ways to climb Jabal Burdah, but the most popular route is the northern ‘Bedouin Route’. The route exists out of 3 hours of hiking and scrambling, while enjoying the beautiful landscapes surrounding the mountain. It’s a moderately difficult climb, but we will guide you through the route. Standing on top of the Burdah Bridge will make you feel like the king or queen of the desert! After descending we eat a picnic lunch and take you back to Wadi Rum Village.

Meeting place of the tour is the Parking Lot of Wadi Rum Village.

The starting time is at 10.00am.

Desert nights can be chilly so make sure to bring enough warm clothes for this trek. 

Wear comfortable shoes on which you can hike for 3 days. 

All our stays and tours have a free cancellation policy. 

What is included: 

- 3 days of hiking with a Bedouin guide

- 2 nights of sleeping under the stars

- Breakfast on day 2 and 3, lunch on day 1, 2  and 3 and dinner on day 1 and 2

- the entrance fee for Wadi Rum Protected Area (paid at Wadi Rum Visitor Centre, 5JD per person or free with the Jordan Pass)
